After much time and effort and irritation, the Mamankyoushitsu 100% english patch is DONE. This patch will translate the Common Route Honoka's Route, Saera's Route, Momo's Route, Emiko's Route, Mimeri's Route, the Harem end, and the Bad End of Mamankyoushitsu into english. Though some names and all menu buttons are as of yet untranslated, this will make the story of the game fully english. To get the patch, just download the link from the following:
Download:
https://www.mediafire.com/?s7gtxay5wj99swe
Once downloaded, extract all the contents of the patch.zip, and drag and drop them into the folder where Mamankyoushitsu is installed. OVERWRITE ALL FILES.
If you encounter and odd script error, try deleting the contents of the savedata folder, re-applying the english patch, then restarting the game.
If you encounter the error still (or if you get an error during certain scenes), uninstall and reinstall the game, then reapply the patch.
If further errors still occur, as always, post them here so that we may try to fix them.
I'd like to apologize for any and all spelling/script writing errors you may encounter over the course of this project. It was very dark when I wrote much of it, and by this time, I'd had quite enough of Swan's writing style.
Now that it's done, however, I'd like to thank everyone for being so patient with waiting for the different routes to be released, for putting up with my often unedited, unrevised translations, and my near constant procrastination of all parts of this project. I would also like to thank Bonzaimonkey for his providing of the script files and kirikiri patch in general, which made this entire project possible.
Meanwhile, as always, if you enjoyed this project and didn't mind my writing, donations are always helpful. However, Mamankyoushitsu is a freely provided translation of SwanEye+'s Mamankyoushitsu eroge game, and will remain as such.
Where do I go from here? We'll see, though hopefully away from the "something for everyone" brand of Nukige that makes up Swan's larger budget titles. There were many parts I was uncomfortable with, and many parts that I could barely believe what I was reading. Yes, indeed, hips were said to be moving on their own. For now though, Mamankyoushitsu is DONE. Thank you all again.
LoeQT.
Can you put back up the game itself?
ReplyDeleteI cant find it anywhere.
If you can torrent, I'd recommend searching http://sukebei.nyaa.se/
Deletekkkkk
DeleteAfter waiting for so long, its finally finished... I really want to thank you for your hard work!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your next work!
Thank you! I've been hoping for this since the partial patch came out...
ReplyDeleteAs someone looking to translate a Swanmania game, how did you do the word-wrapping? Was it manually, or is there some kind of...coding thing I'm probably not smart enough to figure out?
The guy that rpogrammed the patch initially, Bonzaimonkey, did it for me. Unfortunately I know nothing about how it works, or how to program it ;_;
DeleteBasically, I cheated. I picked a random length, do a check to see "Do I have at least x space left?" and if not, go to the next line. This means that some very long words, like "Mamankyoushitsu" can still get split.
DeleteSSP has an injected dll solution which is better, since it checks the actual word, but Kirikiri doesn't allow me to do peeks on the script using just the engine.

ReplyDeleteIf you really want to go through all the effort, I'd write down all the errors you notice in a word doc, then upload it to gogle docs and whenever I feel like revising and going through the thousands of lines of text which make up the translations, it'd be nice to have. But again, it's a lot of effort that I don't think you'd want to do for very long.
DeleteI have been following your blog for a year and glad that I was finally able too see the 100% Patch for Maman Kyoushitsu after a long time. Many people's and groups try to pick up a series but only few ever get to release complete patches so thank you so much for releasing this and working on this even though you have school and stuff.
ReplyDeletethanks very much for all your great work!oskare sama! :D
ReplyDeleteHow about this Norn game? http://vndb.org/v13888
ReplyDeleteAlready have a patch made and scripts ripped. :P
Not gonna lie, more nukige is not something I feel too keen on right now. Maybe if they have better writing than Swan :C
DeleteCurrently, I was thinking looking at
http://vndb.org/v9879
http://vndb.org/v12982
http://vndb.org/v12260
Or something with Kitsune, but that's just me.
Loe how about
Deletehttp://vndb.org/v4880#main
i would like to know if you will release an update that includes menu translations though. hope you can :)
ReplyDeleteIt's being looked into, but I make no guarantees or ETAs.
DeleteFor me with Vista it changes nothing it is japanese if I use your files or not.
ReplyDeleteWhen I install it to C:\Users\USERNAME\ままん教室~未来のHなお勉強~ I get the savedata error message and don´t know what I have to do (I don´t know what you mean with this sentence "If you encounter and odd script error, try deleting the contents of the savedata folder, re-applying the english patch, then restarting the game.". He don´t make the folder savedata and when I copy savedata (get from another place) don´t work and when I install it on other places it is japanese (for example c:).
Let's start from the beginning.
Delete1. Uninstall the game.
2. Reinstall the Game.
3. Run the game, but exit it immediatly after it starts.
4. Download the English Patch
5. Extract all the files inside the english patch onto your harddrive
6. Copy and paste the files (patch.xp3 and the patch folder and everything in it) directly into where you have Mamankyoushitsu installed (overwrite every file it asks you to).
7. Run the game.
Windows Vista
DeleteC:\Users\USERNAME\ままん教室~未来のHなお勉強~
folder:bg,emotion,fg,plugin,rule,savedata,scenario,sound,sys,video
other files:exe, uninstall & cd key program
alle files and the extract patch copied in folder scenario
7.727 files and 10 folders
All XP3 files deleted because he load first from them and wouldn´t load the unpacked files.
The Game is in Japanese it doesn´t matter if I put the config in the main folder or scenario folder it is the same.
Ten folders doesn't sound right at all. This is what it should look like when properly installed:
Deletehttp://imgur.com/sHTClpj
Ok you write it correct here on your site and it works now. My first patch was not from your site and I dont read your text enough.
DeleteMy mistake was because this sentence "Copy all the contents of the eng-patch into the folder where Mamankyoushitsu is installed. OVERWRITE ALL FILES." and was all time in my head.
So I thought I must extract all. I think next time I must read slow on the translation site and maybe more as one time and think about it if I understand the sence.
Thanks for helping me.
Help! I had this game on my laptop a long time ago, and it worked, but i deleted it because i needed space. Now i cant remember how to jet it to work again. I found the game disk and installed the game, but i don't know where to find a crack. then i tried using the demo aplication named mmscex in the folder, but it doesn't work. some blue box shows up with a bunch of what looks like programing language and a error message pops up saying syntax error, unexpected "const". Please someone help so i can finish this game.
ReplyDeleteWhat will probably fix it is to delete every file in Mamankyoushitsu's 'savedata' folder, then relaunch the mmscex.exe.
DeleteI cant even see a savedata folder. For that matter, most of the files that are supposed to be in the folder aren't visible. If i click on properties, then it shows many more things that what i can see. all that shows up for me on the screen is the "Plugin" folder, "mmsc.exe" and the uninstall application. Is there a setting to view hidden files?
DeleteThere is an option to see hidden files, but the savedata folder is not a hidden folder. But for the record, to show hidden files:
DeleteGo to the Control Panel (make sure you have 'View by:' set to icons)
open Folder Options
click the 'View' tab
expand 'Hidden files and folders'
check 'Show hidden files, folders, or drives'
click Apply,
click Okay.
It's done; now you an see hidden files and folders.
As for your installation of Mamankyoushitsu, just start over. Make sure you have the proper system locale and region settings (Japan, obviously). Uninstall the game, then reinstall it. Run the game once (using the demo mmscex.ece) then close it. You should have a savedata folder now. Delete all the files inside it. Redownload the patch from this blog and put the patch files (patch.xp3 and the patch folder (with its' files) directly into the Mamankyoushitsu installed folder). Run the game. It should be in english.
Sorry but it still doesn't work. Starting the game with the mmscex.exe seems to be the part that causes the error. That is when the programing text pops up. That's why i dont have a savedata folder. The demo won't start the game in the first place. Is there a torrent that has all the files already in a folder instead of the iso that i could just download and play?
DeleteIf there's no savedata folder, you're not installing it right. This is what it looks like installed properly (with view hidden files/folders on):
Deletehttp://imgur.com/sHTClpj
As for torrents, I give link anything like that here, as I don't want to get a cease and desist or the like. All I can provide is the english patch.
Sorry for a double post, but apparently there are still some untranslated text in the game, its like 1 line of dialogue after once in a while. Also there are some moonrunes appearing on top of some of the translated text.
ReplyDeleteThough I'm not sure if its on all routes since I have played and cleared Momo's route so far.
There are certain parts of the script where Swaneye used unfamiliar code, so I wasn't sure which lines of text should be edited where to actually change it into english. Also, if I happened to miss adding a tag at the end of each line, the original Japanese is still visible. By and large it does not matter and the intended meaning is still conveyed.
Deleteok. i was playing, reached the stage where he is helping saera with her birth.right after the child is born.a pop up with japanese characters and the words"scenario 1. ks"and 5208" and "eval" and "vsaera0075"(everything else are japanese characters).can you please fix this glitch?
ReplyDeleteUninstalling and reinstalling seemed to fix that when I randomly had it occur, though make sure that you install in onto your computer's harddrive (not on a usb flash drive or other removable media), and don't skip through the text using ctrl or the skip feature when you get to the scene again.
DeleteI believe I determined that it's not a problem with the translation, yet the game being unable to find the proper sound file to play for that specific line. As such, yeah, re-installing corrected it.
DeleteI actually think it has something to do with the patch. Iv had the same error on the scene where the single mom is giving birth. Iv tried re installing several times but it gets me every time. I tried playing without the patch and saving at the scene after so i could just load it up and play from there but as soon as i load it up after adding the patch back on it get the message again. Any ideas?
DeleteMake sure you install the game to your computers main harddrive (under your username, not in the C: drive's program files folder), make sure your computer is not doing any intensive processing, then redownload and re-apply the patch to the new install. I managed to recreate the error on this laptop when either running numerous other programs during the install and/or installing the game onto removable storage media (like a flash drive or sd card) and the error was not with the patch; if it was, then the error would have occurred in more pcs than the three (yours, theirs, and mine) that have been listed here, and would not have been corrected on mine by installing the game onto my desktop; I downloaded and applied the patch I posted here after re-installing to the desktop, and the error did not occur.
DeleteAh. There we go. Sorry. It had been going under the program files. Thanks for your time. Also thanks for the translation. Its always super cool when someone finishes a fan translation and dosn't quit part way. ALL HAIL LOE QUALITY TRANSLATIONS. The name does make it sound less impressive though. <_<
DeleteUntil I revise it, the overall quality of the translation is rather less than impressive. :C
DeleteThanks, though. I don't know what's up with these Swan games and not liking to be installed in the C: drive like everything else, and not liking external drives, either. It is a mystery.
umm i still get this after i reinstalled and its under c:drive, under user, under my user name, its even in a desktop folder but i still get this error please help
DeleteThings to make sure of: Make sure the disc image you are mounting to install the game is also located on your harddrive, make sure your computer is not doing extensive processing during the installation, and although you probably already do, make sure that you have Japanese region settings/east asian character support.
DeleteUninstall and delete everything (again). Mount the disc image and reinstall the game to your desktop. Once re-installed on your desktop, put the trial version .exe (mmscex.exe) into the folder where everything is installed. Do not apply the english patch yet. Run the game once (using mmscex.exe), then close the program. Open the game's 'savedata' folder and delete all the files inside. Now extract the english patch from its archive and put all contents into the game's folder. Now open the program again (again with mmscex.exe; this is the only .exe you should ever use), and it SHOULD work properly.
There are a lot of places you could go from here. There are a lot of dead projects available that people would flip to see kicked up again, and there are translation teams in need of great translators like you! Just to name a few:
ReplyDeleteGrisaia no Meikyuu (dead for the next 6 months until someone comes along to help)
Walkure Romanze (In need of a translator)
Majikoi S, A1, A2, and A3 (Project dead for 6+ months already, needs to be revitalized badly.)
Yoake Mae (Been dead for a while, but not an H game)
And then there's a ton of kickstarter projects that I'm sure would appreciate help from a TL of your caliber :)
You and I both know that my vote goes to Majikoi S and the others, but any of the above (along with many more) would be thrilled to have you on the team / pick up the project. Either way, do what you enjoy and what you think is right mate, and I thank you once again for your hard work. Have a fantastic summer :)

ReplyDeleteSweet work man!
ReplyDeleteAs for what to do next, finishing up Haro Kano is an option if you're still interested in that, from what I played so far, it's pretty nice.
It's the usual slice-of-highschool-life story, plus unprotected sex with various girls (the usual erotic Swaneye Mom included). It's not bad at all, but it's rather long and not too interesting, like the early early episodes of Lucky Star. Considering its length, I'm just wondering if it'd be worth it to spend my time on.
DeleteHey I got this when I open the game can you help me? http://i.imgur.com/pXlnNq6.png
ReplyDeleteLooks like your system locale and/or region settings aren't set to Japan (which they need to be) or you didn't use applocale correctly to install and/or run the game (if you don't want to change your region settings to Japan. That, or you need to install the East Asian Language pack for your OS.
DeleteI changed my region settings from the control panel,I didn't use applocale..Now when I start the game I get this. http://i.imgur.com/nF1gbLU.png
DeleteNow that you have Japan region settings, uninstall and re-install the game. The error is that it cannot open the mmsc.exe file, most likely because it cannot navigate to the file with all those junk characters in the file path. Re-installing with the correct region settings should fix that, though make sure you have the East Asia Language support installed for your OS. Also, unless you've actually bought a copy of Mamankyoushitsu, remember to use the demo version .exe to run the game, else you won't be able to get past the game's copyright protection.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteFirst off, amazing work concluding the translation. New VN, especially translated ones are a big win in my book as they help me in my quest to learn Japanese on my own. Really, kudos and keep up the good work.
Secondly I needed to confirm something and though it's not a problem per se, I still would appreciate an expert opinion.
You see, I had the game installed from way back but since I already had some other titles to go through I kept this one on the back burner all this time. But now with your patch popping up I decided to pick it up ASAP but there seems to be a bit of an issue with the installation. According the screenshot posted by you in the comments above, the folder should look like this:
http://i.imgur.com/sHTClpj.png
But for me after patching and everything it looks like this:
http://puu.sh/8LKAz.png
Now when I run the game it executes just fine and the translation is there as well. But I just wanna confirm if this difference won't be an issue in the long run. I would hate to start all over if something screws up somewhere far down the line.
Regards,
LonerPrime
Looks like you just don't have your folder options set to display hidden files and folders. as you're not messing with any of the games files, you should be fine.
DeleteYou are indeed correct. Thank you for the prompt reply.
DeleteSPOILERS SPOILERS
ReplyDeleteKay, so maybe I just have to much time on my hands or need something better to do than play eroge/other Japanese stuff, but whatever fat chance, I doubt I'll ever find something. I finished and got everything I could like the first day you posted it(Momo ending, Emiko ending, Momo/Emiko ending, Mimeri ending, Saeka ending, and Bad ending, including all the cg's/scenes/animations for each of those routes respectively), however I couldn't figure out how to get Honoka's ending, because when you try for it, it gives you the bad ending so my guess was that I needed other things, so first I went back finished everyone else's ending and got all cg's/etc. but it still just gave me the bad end, so figured maybe I have to answer the knowledge related questions correctly since it's technically a quiz game so to be sure I looked all the questions up and made sure I was correct. I was, so I tried variations like getting all the answers wrong, but still couldn't do it. I even wrote all the q/a's on a spreadsheet and ran calculations for the 10 most likely paths that could lead to me getting her ending and tried them all with no luck(for the record only 10 because the game has 737,282 possible combinations of courses). As you can see i have put a lot of effort in to this and I usually like figuring things out but I just can't so If anyone would be so kind, I really want my delicious harem of pregnant girls. :D

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI was able to get the game and everything patched right and then I ran the game and went into the options, and I saw that they weren't translated. Of course, I fully understand that the options haven't been translated but I was wondering if I could at least get like some sort of picture with like text over each option about what the option says simply because I can't read Japanese and can't even Google Translate it. I just like changing my options to the point where I can enjoy the nukige to the fullest.
All I need is an image with English text above the options, of this if it's possible:

Thank you for your amazing work on finishing the translation and also thank you for your time.

DeleteI just have to download the japanese maman kyoushitsu and install and apply the patch like the how the other eroges are installed, right? Any site/torrent would do? I find it kinda weird that the patch is only less than a MB
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this game to be translated! Thanks for translating it, man! I think I'll like this game.
I'd find it weird if a group of notepad files were greater than an mb. But aquire the game, acquire the trial version (unless you actually bought the game), install the game onto your harddrive properly, put the demo .exe into Mamankyoushitsu's installed folder, run the game using the demo .exe (and only the demo .exe), exit the game, download the patch, extract the contents, drap and drop the contents into the mamankyoushitsu folder, run the demo .exe to play the game.
DeleteThanks a lot for your work man. Can you post a walkthrough or link to one?
ReplyDeleteI've completed all the main routes , Harem ending and Bad ending

did i miss a step or what?
If those are the only files you have, you only have the demo to the game.
DeleteTo get the game and the patch to work, you need to firrst find the complete game (via torrent download probably).
Once acquired, install the game.
Once installed, move mmsc.exe into the folder where Mamankyoushitsu is installed.
After that, download the english translation patch (it will be in a .zip archive).
Extract all the contents of the patch from the .zip archive (the files and folder).
Once extracted, move the files and folder into the same folder as mmsc.exe and the rest of the game's files.
Run mmsc.exe to run the game. It should launch.
Good day Loe,
ReplyDeleteI'm just checking in here to give you my appreciation for translating this game (and all of the others you've done). I've just finished the common route and I have to say, it reads really well. Also, as far as my knowledge goes (an experienced novice, I suppose), your translations are spot on. Though, I assume that's a given if you've studied Japanese in its native country for about a year.
One question, though, as I don't see a translation for the Visual Novels's title here: Does "Maman Kyoushitsu ~Mirai no H na Obenkyou~ (ままん教室 ~未来のHなお勉強~)" translate to "Mother Classroom ~Studying the future of H (a.k.a. "Sex")~"? Since you far surpass my skill in the language, I just thought it couldn't hurt to ask. This way, I learn something, that is to say, if my translation is in error. To be more precise, I'm not quite sure of the meaning of 「ままん」. I assume it's a different way to say "Mom" or "Mother" from the more common 「まま」or「ママ」, but honestly, I've never encountered this form up until now.
Lastly, Swaneye+'s second game, "Hime Koi ☆ Fechi Koi ~Ano Ko no Seiheki ni Ijou Ari!~ (ひめ恋☆ふぇち恋 ~あの娘の性癖に異常アリ!~)", looks just as interesting as this one, so I might take up a translation project for it one day, unless you beat me to it, that is. I'd translate this game's title as "Princess Love ☆ Fetish Love ~That girl's fetishes are quite unusual!~", how about you?
Thanks in advance and sorry for troubling you with this stuff (and for the extremely long post).
Unfortunately, the common route only reads so well because I recently took the time to edit and revise it; the actual routes will read much less fluidly until I get around to revising them as well (the earliest translated routes, especially).
DeleteAs for your question, I just assumed (like you) that Maman is a variant of Mama. What they might be doing is using the "ndesu" grammar form, adding "n" to the end of the adjective "Mama" to provide more emphasis to it. I'm not entirely sure, though, as my actual Japanese skill is nowhere near what you're professing it to be.
As for HimeKoi, I'd say your translation of the title kinda works, but two things:
-I don't think it would "That girl's", but "These girl's" since there's more than one heroine.
-I'm not sure if I would translate "性癖" as "fetish", since it might just be talking about the heroines personalities/characteristics/interests/etc. Maybe.
I'm actually not sure, since I never looked into the game that much. I know there's a system in it where it seems like the choices the player makes influences how the girls act, what they do, and the ending you get with them. If that system is what "性癖" refers to, I'm not sure if it's specifically about fetishes. I might use a more vague term (since titles don't need to be super specific, after all) but it depends on the game contents and what the translator determines when they look into it.
For the record, no, I have no intention of working on HimeKoi.
Ow, I see. Well then, I hope I grabbed the right patch. I downloaded the one from your Google Drive, so I hope you updated both mirrors with the updated patch. If not, oh well, it reads just fine as is, so I'm satisfied. In any case, I wish you good luck on the current game you're working on (and any other possible translation projects you might be doing in the future). Remember, if you ever need a hand for anything that isn't related to anything technical, I'm willing to lend you one. Maybe two, if you're in very dire need of help.
DeleteAh, so that's how it is. I see, I see, that makes sense. Very interesting! I'll make sure to remember that for the future! And yes, that may be true, but I'm sure your skill is of a high enough level as it is to allow yourself to be proud of it.
Your remarks on my translation of HimeKoi's title are indeed duly, as I too, just like you, haven't played through the game yet to see in which context the title might touch. I suppose in some cases, assigning a proper translation to a title can only be done with 100% certainty after one has fully experienced the game. Still, as it is a Nukige, I just thought that was the most plausible meaning intended here, but again, not too sure. Could just as well be what you said too. *sigh* That's probably what makes Japanese so hard, the fact that it's a very contextual language. But just as much, that's what makes it so fun! Haha.
hello.
ReplyDeleteWhat if my maman kyoushitsu doesnt have savedata?
The savedata folder gets made the first time you launch the game. If you haven't launched the game yet, then there won't be a savedata folder.
Deletehey i dont know if you still check up on this page, but i followed all your instructions to a T and the game runs correctly, but i tried to install your patch and followed your instructions on extracting the patch and dragging the files into the downloaded folder, but the game still doesnt show english text. Am i missing something?
ReplyDeleteCan you show me a screenshot of your Mamankyoushitsu folder? It should look like this (when you have view hidden items enabled):
Deletehttps://imgur.com/BYq1VJK
Make sure you have the two highlighted items, the 'patch' folder and the 'patch.xp3' file. The patch folder should contain a lot of .ks files. These are the english scripts for the game.
looks exactly like it does in your image, but when i open it its all japanese still
DeleteFor the record, only the in-game text is translated. The images, buttons, and menus are still in Japanese. Is the in-game text also in Japanese?
DeleteI couldn't edit the in-game images, so I made a gallery instead:
https://imgur.com/a/9MIxV
no the in game text is in japanese
DeleteDirectly inside the patch folder, it should look like this:
Deletehttps://imgur.com/xcVJjN3
looks exactly like that, idk know whats wrong, but its definitely on my part. thanks for trying to help
ReplyDeleteThe patch.xp3 file checks the 'patch' folder for all those .ks files. If the patch.xp3 file can't find the right .ks files (scenario1.ks, sc_saera.ks; et cetera), or if it can't find ANY .ks files, it reverts back to the original Japanese. The .ks files can't be in a folder inside the patch folder (like a folder named 'patch' inside the folder named 'patch') and they can't be in the .zip file. They have to be extracted right into that 'patch' folder.
DeleteIf the mmscex.exe can't find the patch.xp3 file in the MMK folder (the same folder that mmscex.exe is in), then it won't try to load the english script and will just use the original Japanese. The patch.xp3 file also must be right there - not in the .zip file, but fully extracted.
Not sure if either of these problems are what's going wrong.
oh, it worked! thank you for the help, very much appreciated
Deletehey, i just download your patch but why GUI not translated yet? it's little unenjoyed . but good job brother XD
ReplyDeleteEDIT: Posted the wrong link.
DeleteHello,
Glad to hear the patch is working for you; I hope you enjoy the story. As for the UI... I'd like to make a patch for it, but I don't have the programming skill... so I made this guide instead:
https://imgur.com/a/9MIxV/all
