    1. Should work the same as every other patch, installation wise. You may want to try deleting everything in your savedata folder for HaraKano first (I recommend copying the folder contents somewhere else, first). Other than that, it should run as normal.

    2. it may be due to my crack, all i do is slap the ddl in which stops it asking you for a cd key

      Delete
    3. It will no longer ask for a CD key, but you might still need to have the harakano disc-image mounted in your virtual drive. Even with the demo.exe security bypass, HaraKano doesn't like to run without the .iso (or .mds) of the CD there.

    5. Oh thank goodness you've posted; it looks like I made a mistake when putting together the patch. I put in the patch.zip into the .zip instead of teh correct .xp3 file; I'll fix it now. Thank you for posting!

    6. If you redownload the patch, it should be the right files now.

    7. where can one get that crack? :( i can't seem to make this game to work eventhough i pasted the patch to the game folder... theres this protection system blocking me from playing q.q pls help

    8. There is no crack. Just put get the Harakano demo .exe in the same folder as Harakano's real .exe, then run the demo .exe. to run the game.

Don't have the demo downloaded? If you have the Harakano disc image (which you'll need to run the game anyway) you actually do; Swaneye includes the demo version of all their games on the game disc. So once again,

      Mount the Harakano disc image
Open it from My Computer (or your OS's equivalent)
Open the おまけデータ folder (it's the only folder on the disc)
Open 孕ら☆カノ!!ダイジェスト版.zip (the only .zip file in that folder) Extract the contents somewhere to you hard drive
What you extracted is the Harakano demo. Find where you extracted it, and move that Harakano.exe into Harakano's installed folder (rename it whatever you want).
Use that .exe (and only that .exe) to run the game.
It should bypass the security, but make sure you have the Harakano disc image mounted whenever you run it (there is no No-DVD patch).

    9. okay so i tried re installing the game, copy the demo exe to the game folder and only used the demo exe to play it. The problem is that even by using the demo exe the protection system message still pops up... or should i overwrite the old exe with the demo exe?

  3. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong... it's been a long time. You might need a different EDP4.dll after all. An anon recommended this-

    http://www.pregchan.com/preg/res/835.html#19992

Download it, virus check it(?), put it into your Harakano folder and overwrite the EDP4.dll file already there, run game.

    1. Do you have the game fully installed, and the demo.exe in the same folder as the game's installed file (also, name the demo to something other than Harakano.exe)?

  7. Uninstall everything.
    Delete everything.
    Reinstall the game.
Put the demo into the main game folder under a different name (keep the regular .exe file as is)
Run the demo (it should start the full game).
    Download the patch.
Extract the contents of the patch onto your hard drive
Move the contents (patch.xp3 and the patch folder with everything inside it) directly into the HaraKano folder, alongside harakano.exe and the demo .exe
Delete EVERYTHING in the savedata folder.
    Run the demo .exe
It should be translated, though noet the translation was an April Fool's joke.

    3. Hi! Need help!
I mounted the Harakano disk image. Opened the おまけデータ folder, and found another folder 孕ら☆カノ!!アクセサリ.
      Inside that folder is "HKAcseSetUp"
孕ら☆カノ!!ダイジェスト版.zip is nowhere to be found. :/
Where do I find or get it.
Thanks! Help would be very much appreciated.

    4. 孕ら☆カノ!!ダイジェスト版.zip should be in the おまけデータ folder alongside 孕ら☆カノ!!アクセサリ (not inside of it), if it's not there, then it's been cut from your disk image. That's not to say you're screwed, though, because you're not.

What's inside the .zip file is the demo version of HaraKano. The same demo is available for download via various Japanese websites, though I'd recommend HolySeal: http://holyseal.net/cgi-bin/mlistview.cgi?prdcode=8014

Go to that website, and see if any of the links for the 354 mb file still work. That's the .zip you're looking for, and once downloaded, you can use it just like you would the .zip on the original HaraKano disc.

If none of those links work, you can try another of the eight demo download sites that Swan has listed here: http://www.swaneye.com/swaneye/harakano/dl.html

The link to bring you to the download page will be the link on the right, the one that says 'ダウンロード' and you can navigate each download site much the same as the Holy Seal site.

    5. Cool story: the HKAcceSetUp application is just a bonus program Swan made that will install a couple of .wav audio files on your computer that you can use to replace Operating System sounds. It's just HaraKano characters voicing different things, like Marina greeting you when you log on and etc

    6. Thanks for the quick response Loe!
So I downloaded the demo and put it into the same folder as where Harakano is installed. Disk is mounted, and the demo's .exe renamed to Lol.exe.
The key requirement still pops up when starting the game, even when launching the game with the demo.exe file.
I assume I will be needing a different EDP4.ddl file like you had told John in an earlier comment.
The one link you provided him however doesn't seem to take me to the right place and isn't working.

      Delete
    7. Yeah, the EPD4.ddl is necessary, though I don't know where you can find it particularly easily. It should be available somewhere, but I cannot officially provide it here. :C

    8. I guess I'm gonna have to search for one then lol but thanks for the help other wise!
      Always supporting your work!
Just curious, everything done is by you alone right? That's quite the work load.

    9. I get the scripts and the initial patches which make potential translations work from other users, but all the actual translation and etc. is done by me alone. One of the reasons why it all takes so long, and why I used to not bother much with editing or revising; I figured it'd take more time than people really cared about, considering the content material in question.

    1. The fake patch? It's available inside the real patch. I included a HaraKano Side Notes .txt files that explains it, alongside other neat stuff from HaraKano and its translation. This is from that text file:

"It is actually still available to play though, by renamining the "scenario1 - April Fools 2014.ks" file to "scenario1.ks" in the Patch folder, after the English patch is downloaded and the game runs. Those that do this, be sure to rename the original scenario1.ks file before you do this, though, or else you will need to redo the English Patch to play the real game."

So if you have the real patch downloaded, just do that to see my hastily done fake route story.

  12. I keep having problems running the game for some reason concerning something to do with the saved data.

    1. The game is probably detecting the difference between the script files. The joke patch uses different scripts than the real patch, and your save files with the real patch are probably conflicting with the joke patch, which makes the game not launch properly.

      Solution:

When you use the joke patch (after you rename the appropriate files in the patch folder), move the Harakano savedata folder into a different directory or rename it, then launch the game. The game will make a new savedata folder automatically, which will be your save folder for the joke patch. Read the "story" and enjoy.

When you want to go back to the real patch, move (or rename) the savedata folder for the joke patch, and then put the original savedata folder back in the Harakano folder. Rename the right files in the patch folder (so the real scenario1 file is named scenario1.ks again), and then relaunch the game. It should work properly, and your old save files should be intact.

      Delete
    2. This is only for using the joke patch and the real patch, though. If you're having trouble just using the real patch, you have a different problem entirely.

    1. The fake patch is actually still available inside the real patch. I included a HaraKano Side Notes .txt files that explains how to access it, alongside other neat stuff from HaraKano and its translation. This is what it says:

"The joke route is actually still available to play through by renaming the "scenario1 - April Fools 2014.ks" file to "scenario1.ks" in the Patch folder, after the English patch is downloaded. Those that do this, though, be sure to rename the original scenario1.ks file to something else before you do this, or else you will need to reinstall the English Patch again in order to play the real story."

So if you have the real patch downloaded, just do that and you can see my hastily done fake route story.

If you do do that, though, also be sure to check your Harakano directory for a folder named savedata. If you see that folder, rename to something else before you change the name of the scenario1.ks file. The savedata folder is all of your save data for the original version of the script, so when you change the name of it, you will be protecting your savedata from the real version of the game. After you do that, when you run Harakano, it will create a new savedata folder specifically for the fake translation, which will contain all your save data for the April Fool's patch. Whenever you want to go back to the real translation, rename that new savedata folder to something else and change the name of the old savedata folder back to savedata, then rename the scenario1.ks files back to their original names and relaunch the game.

If you don't do this, you might have to delete the savedata folder whenever you want to run either version of the script (real or fake), and you'll lose all your progress with the CGs, the animations, your quick load data, your saves, etc. :C

    3. There is no %100 translation patch at this time. I've been working on it for over a year now, and have 100% of Marina's route, 100% of Ayana's route, and about 30% of Ren's route translated, and you can download the most recent version of that from the Projects page on this blog, or any of the more recent posts about HaraKano updates.

This (negative) %100 update was released for April Fool's in 2014.

  15. Hello Sir. Just need confirmation if u would.
So i need to mount 4.5gb harakano.mdf after i installed 4.25gb(game data) for the game? It takes too much space isnt it or im doing it wrong.
    Is there a way i can play w/ot mount anything after i install+copy edp4.dll+patch?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I had thought that the edp4.dll patch made it so you didn't need to mount anything to run the game?

Alternatively, if you have harakano.mdf, you should also have Harakano.mds (a much smaller file). If you do, after you install Harakano with the .mdf file, I think you can just mount the .mds file and Harakano.exe will think that the .mds file is the proper disc, so you shouldn't need the .mdf anymore to launch the game.

      Not sure, though. Good luck.

    1. Install the game that you legitimately bought.
Download the real patch (available at http://www.mediafire.com/download/muy1s6yvv29j00l/patch.zip)
      Open the patch.zip
Extract all the contents of the .zip to your computer
Move all the files you extracted directly into the folder where Harakano is installed (the one with the HaraKano.exe)
      Start the game.

The buttons will be in Japanese, but the actual game text will be in English (you can use this imgur album as a guide for navigating the game: http://imgur.com/a/FBzuU). So far only 3 routes are translated (Marina's, Ayana's, and Ren's). More are in the works.

    2. Ah got it. hope to get the rest and am willing to pay aswell for the translation of the rest and for HaraChuChu (on that. how many routes are there for HaraChuhu

    3. Six routes in Harachuchu (excluding the Harem route), but I was planning on doing three of them for free after I catch up on all the other projects.

    1. The negative 100 percent patch is included in the real patch, available from mediafire; you just have to rename two files.

Before you start Harakano (but after you have the patch installed), go into the patch folder and rename 'scenario1.ks' to any other name.

      Once that's done, rename 'scenario1 - April Fools 2014.ks' to 'scenario1.ks'.

Launch the game, and it should now play the joke that I threw together in a day instead of the actual game.

To get the real game back, close Harakano, revert the files to their original names, and relaunch.

You MIGHT want to also rename/move the savedata folder to something/somewhere else before starting the April Fool's joke route. If you do, you'll protect your savedata from the real game from conflicting with the joke route, and also let you save and revisit scenes from the joke route (the game will auto-create a new savedata folder, same as the old one). To get your savedata for the real game back, simply rename the joke route's savedata folder into something else and revert the original savedata folder (that you renamed or moved) back to the name 'savedata'/ back to its original location.

For better(?) information on all this, check out the HaraKano Side Notes.txt file in the English patch's patch folder - I included directions about this somewhere in there.
